12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Gusher opener, but not bad. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy medium golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of pear, red apple, herbal, wood, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of pale malts, fruity yeast, and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of pear, red apple, herbal, wood, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, pear, red apple, herbal, wood, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of pale malts, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Overall this is a nice NA beer. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of pale malts, fruity yeast, and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and pretty refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/drying/carbonated finish. Very flavorful and not watery. Reminds me of an English pale ale on style. Does not have any cardboard off flavors like most NA brews. Great balance between pale malts, fruity yeast, and earthy hops. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A nicely enjoyable and well made offering for the low ABV.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours murky dark reddish orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 9.5%. Overall this is a very good DIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Nicely juicy and light dank hop complexity; nice dark/bready malt backbone, not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. Adequate lingering dryness and well attenuated. Likely classic C's and Amarillo hops. A very enjoyable offering.

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying tan head, about two centimetres tall, almost light brown, with a nice opaque glow to the beer. Aroma of roasted malt, cacao (dark, ~80%), canella and a dose of deep pitted fruits, along with some alcohol. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich chocolate and roasted malt flavours with a good dose of vanilla, alcohol, toffee, spice and a nice finish of alcohol, cacao and a touch of coffee. Aftertaste shows some roasted malt, along with coffee, earth, vanilla, oak and some light spices - very nice and robust. Overall, a much better beer than I was expecting (I’ve had others from the brewery) with a good flavour complete with spices and depth and a nice complexity that is good for the season and a welcome break from a ’plain’ imperial stout or herbed beer. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 10-December-2016 for US$2,49 sampled at home in Washington on 13-February-2017.

12 ounce bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Pours nearly opaque dark brown color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the big ABV. Feels a bit too roasty for an Old ale; but is not to the point where it would feel like a stout. Could have used stronger dark fruit flavors also; but nicely enjoyable all around.
