330ml bottle served at ‘t Brugs Beertje. Cloudy, dark orange body. Creamy, white head. Spiced fruity nose. Honey sweetness, ripe fruits, lactose, and pumpkin in flavour. Rather heavy to drink, but quite alright, though (Brugge, 03.05.2011).

330ml bottle at ‘t Brugs Beertje. Good looking with a deep, reddish brown body. Eggshell, off-white head that stays on a low level throughout. Sweet fruits and herbal dryness to the nose. Dark malts and dark fruits in flavour added by spices and yeast. Dry lingering ending with alcohol warmth. A good drink in splendid surroundings (Brugge, 02.05.2011).

bottle@home: extremely hazy mud/amber coloured, head was white & very, very aggressive when I poured it but eventually settled down & turned out to be surpassingly lasting, smelled a lot sweeter than I expected it to with earthly hop, spices & even fruit, taste was heavy on spices with it actually being a little bit spicey/hot but not as much as I expected it to be, very earthly hop, malt heavy body and yet it is rather light & has a touch of sweet mustard seeds, not as over the top as I expected it to be but certainly unique and interesting, slightly bitter

Dark purple brown beer, beige very creamy head, stable and very adhesive. Aroma: overripe fruits, malts, some smoke and wood notes, sour apple skin. MF: lots of carbon, a little too much actually, medium to full body. Taste: caramel, full malts, little bitter, sweet alcohol, some mocha. Aftertaste: citrus and bitter hops, little fruity. I liked it better than the ratings might indicate, but I subtracted some points for presenting itself as a stout, an imperial one by the way, while this is clearly a strong Belgian ale.

33 cl bottle thanks to ekstedt! Sampeld on May 25, 2011BB Q3/2014Cloudy orange color, big lasting creamy off-white head. Intense smell of closed up cheese scent, and I don’t like cheese...Also loads of alcohol, some malt and a spinyness in the back.Spicy, alcohol, sweet, fruity, cheese taste. Numbing alcohol mouthfeel, also moussy. Low bitterness.

Red to amber coloured beer, light beige to yellow head, much like a soda head: lots of big bubbles first, then quickly falls down to just a small layer on the beer. Lots of small particles floating around. Aroma: caramel, grapefruit, dried fruits. MF: light carbon, full body. Taste: very sweet at first: sweet malts, candi sugar, very fruity, grenadine, but then it gets a bit more bitter with hints of grapefruits and citrus acidity coming through and partly balancing the sweetness. Aftertaste: some bitterness and citrus, but also raisins and still some sugar. It's not a cloying beer, but still pretty sweet.

bouteille 33cl orange/cuivre, col épais blanc; Note de malt caramel, fruits noirs, levure et pomme caramélisées. Palais a effectivement une bonne note réchauffante d’alcool, malt caramel et grillé allant légèrement sur la noisette, sucre candi, fruits noirs pour un profile qui est épais finissant avec qcq épices.

Bottled at Pressklubben, Stockholm. Cloudy amber, brief head. Arousing spicy fruity nose with nutmeg and Tokaji Aszú. Sweet andfull bodied, well rounded mouthfeel. Ripe fruits meet caramelly malt in barley wine fashion. Like a sweet dessert wine, very well put together and hiding the alcohol in an exceptional way.

At Ebenezer’s Pours Pours out a hazy amber topped with a tall head. Aroma was spice, yeast, clove, bread, and some malt. Taste was much as the aroma with a nice spice on it.
