Description

Not much to get excited about here. In fact, this was not all that enjoyable. Dark golden pour with small, white head that diminishes to pools of bubbles. Spicy aroma of coriander. Also notes of lemon, apple cider. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. There is a bret-like tartness and sourness that could be from the mustard seed. The medium body has a water texture.

Bottle. Small head with short duration. Color is hazy golden. Aroma and taste are spices, coriander it seems, wheat malt and some citrus.

Hazy brown with tiny head. Sweet malty aroma with spicy and fruity notes. Flavor is sweet with roasted malt, ripe fruits and yeast. Good balance with alcohol well hidden. Warming alcohol in the end.

33 cl bottle: Cloudy yellow with a off white bubbly head. This beer is heavy spiced. Coriander, wheat, pepper & citrus. It has a touch of medicine & is a bit too sour for my liking. OK, but the fly ass long haired hippie/hoppie brewer can do better than this!

Bottle, picked up from The Hop Duvel, Gent and consumed 26-12-07 Poured a very dark reddy amber colour with white head. The aroma was sweet malts with sourness around the edges. Tasted roasty with burnt wood dominating initially only to subside to reveal good hops, sourness again, quite tangy but to be fair the sweetness holds firm against all of these other tastes. This is a very interesting and unusual Imperial Stout.

Bottle, picked up from Hop Duvel, Gent. Had this Christmas Eve 07 Poured looking marginally better than its stablemate the Dubbel IPA but still not quite the fine specimen in the picture to the left, mine was indeed hazy amber but with only a tiny rim of bubbles. slightly sour funky spicy nose some fruit. Nice soft spritzy carbonation tangy, punchy some nutmeg there maybe can’t really notice the pumpkin much, easy drinking and very tasty.

Bottle at Trappistenhuis, Gent 07-12-07 Poured light amber with a thin white rim of bubbles. Didn’t note the mustard seeds but there was a nice ever so slightly sour crisp aroma. The taste was also very crisp like tasting slightly unripe apples. Wonderful tasing beer, lovely fruitiness, drying towards the finish and very moreish.

This one tried to crawl out of the bottle. Rich warm dark fruit aroma (wine frig temperature). Hazy reddish amber color with a fragile off-white head. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. Heat is noticeable. Very malty in a lightly roasted way, and the dark fruits, sort of plummy, are ever present. The finish is moderately dry, and there seems to be some bitter. Strong points are the aroma and interesting, slightly woody, finish.
