Description

Bottle: Poured a bright golden yellow color ale with a huge pure white foamy head with excellent retention and good lacing. Aroma of sweet malt is dominating. Taste is a mix between some sweet malt and some distinctive Belgian yeast with some traces of warming alcohol. Body is about average with some great carbonation and a bit too much of alcohol. I couldn’t detect any pumpkin, which either means that there aren’t really I it to begin with or the amount is so insignificant that it is impossible to taste. Overall, I though this reminded me of Piraat.

Tiny white head. Deep copper body. Complex, smoky aroma of alcohol, tobacco, and tropical fruit with notes of peas. Taste is intensely acidic tobacco with lemony aftertaste. Reminiscent of tobacoo lambic. This is awful. I’m not sure if that’s because making beer from mustard is just plain dumb, or whether it’s because the bottle is too old. I should get another one and re-rate. (0.33l bottle.)

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a thin light beige head. Big apple, malty aroma with some oak, spice, and alcohol. Malty, toffee flavor with lots of apple and some oak backing. Lingering malty, apple flavor with a bit of brown sugar. Medium body. Alcohol doesn’t seem to be 12%. Nice complexity and apple fruitiness. Doesn’t have the richness and depth of a JW Lees harvest in Calvados, but very tasty.

Bottle at The Rake, Borough. Mustard beer? According to Richard from Utobeer, they sell tons of the stuff. Spicey aroma. Very good malt and then mustard hop finish. Unbelievably drinkable. So I will be having another.
