Bière blonde titrant 7% à de la microbrasserie Smiske brassée avec Cascade et Dry Hopping, cette Smiske Extra ne restera pas dans mes anales. Si le Dry Hopping confère une bonne amertume herbacée, l'intensité aromatique est décevante et l'équilibre est trop imparfait (petite acidité, alcool à 7 % peu efficace notamment). En verre, le blond est limpide et surmonté d'une mousse blanche d'un cm. L'effervescence est poussée renforçant l'impression de fraîcheur à l'attaque conférée par l'amertume herbacée provenant du houblonnage à cru. L'effervescence trop poussée cependant ne permet pas d'apprécier des arômes peu intenses de surcroît. Ce sont des arômes de céréales, de coriandre sur un fond d'agrumes qui sont présents. La seconde bouche présent par contre une petite acidité déstabilisante, avec le houblonnage à cru qui se fait ressentir de façon croissante. L'arrière bouche est quant à elle peu ample et peu intéressante. La troisième bouche n'apporte rien de nouveau et nous finissons la dégustation par un final sur l'amertume trop court. Pas exceptionnel en définitive.

Plaisante cette Vario 2016 qui est plutôt bien construite autour d'arômes de fruits mûrs (raisins, prunes notamment), de malts grillés, légèrement épicé avec un alcool assez présent conférant une bonne puissance. Je regrette tout de même un sucre un peu trop présent donnant une certaine lourdeur en bouche. La corpulence est plutôt bonne et la longueur excellente. Plaisant et sur une bonne complexité.

Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, small, frothy, off-white head; little lacing. 'Raw' aroma of chicory, raw vegetable, earth, beet, coffee bean, candi sugar, licorice, raisin, candied orange, bloody iron. It tastes medium malty sweet, notes of caramel & earth, and light spicy bitter, hints of coffee & licorice, a bit medicinal. Dryish, herbal & earthy hoppy finish, lingering coffee, malt, spicy licorice, and a dash of warming liqueur alcohol. Medium body, syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. If ever this was a Stout, it should be 'Imperial', but I'd view it as a coffee-infused Quad with earthy notes. At that, actually not so bad.

Pours hazy dark amber with a huge, frothy, tan head; lots of lacing. Aroma of licorice, cough syrup, spoiled raisin, caramel, candi sugar, pancake with molasses, some band aid - weird overall. It tastes medium to heavy syrupy sweet, hints of caramel & brown sugar, and light spicy bitter, some dough, spicy licorice, bit plastic & phenolic. Dryish, spicy finish, more licorice & aniseed, lingering syrup & band aid, big dash of jenever alcohol. Medium body, oily texture (the oats?), lively carbonation. This is a bit overdone...

08/07/2018 @home - 33cl bottle from Delhaize Nederename. Black colour with nice yellowish tanned head. Nose is dark malts, coffee, bit chocolate. Taste is dark malts, clear mild coffee, dark chocolate, bit cararmel, sweet touch. Nice.

Bottle, many thanks 77ships! Hazy amber color with white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, raisins, estery. Taste is caramel, toffee, some rye spice. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Ok.

At Café Botteltje, Ostend. Pours hazy brown with a small, tan head. The aroma contains caramel, (dark) fruits, spices, vinegar and port. It tastes medium to heavy sweet, light bitter and light sour. The finish is slightly dry, wry and tart, with prominent alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Good touch of sourness, but all in all not very refined.

Slow gusher alert!
Clear orange beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, bit floral (is this the joke?), some peaches, banana, bit malty, some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, grains, bit sweet, fruity, soft bitterness, little sourish. Aftertaste: sweet malts, caramel, bitter touch, some orange peel.

Bottle from HomeBrewStuff. Murky brown, lively bottle, huge billowing head. Earthy and smoky aroma. Taste leans towards a quad, figs, licorice. Lightly toasted malts, fruity. Light for a 10% beer. Not a typical stout.
