Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, malt bitter, roasted, coffee, light chocolate sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140228]

Draft - Cinnamon and spice. Jet black with a thin beige head. Chocolate, coffee, spice and a bit milky. Not bad but not Horchata.

On tap at Hops and Pie. Pours a clear copper orange with small paperthin white head. The aroma is strong booze, fruit, and caramel. Thin mouthfeel with strong booze and oak. Good.

16 ounce bottle - pours a hazy light gold - very low carbonation, though, with a minimal lace - there is a nice floral hop character to the nose, along with a touch of mineral and soft wheat tones - simple, but inviting - carbonation is a little low, but the texture is decent - fairly simplistic flavor, even for the style, but fairly enjoyable - medium dry, with low bitterness - some drying mineral character, the light tang of wheat, subtle hop flavor - finish has a mild note of DMS, but otherwise okay, despite its simplicity.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has some bitter pine and resin with a good amount of sweet grain backing. Flavor starts with sweet grains but finishes with very bitter pine and resin.

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland 28/02/14. Light black with a moderate tan covering. Nose is rich dark fruits, earthy cocoa, dark berry fruit notes. Taste comprises bitter chocolate, tangy dark fruits, light roast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so porter, not much depth for 6%.

Bottle - Almost sweet fruit like apricot, oak and some tropical hops. Clear copper with a rich huge beige head. Peach, oak, bitterness and a long tropical finish. I like it.

Tap. Pours reddish amber, medium creamy beige head, gear lacing. Aroma is pine, caramel, a bit of citrus. Flavor is medium sweet, heavy bitter, harsh, lingering string, almost metallic bitter finish. Medium body, a bit creamy. Not great.
