Description
The brewery uniquely straddles the ancient Offa's Dyke, which is the ancient boundary dividing England and Wales. For a fresher smoother taste we crush locally sourced malted barley in the "old" Wales, before passing through to the mash ton and copper boiler in England. Then we return to Wales for fermenting and conditioning. Finally the beer is casked back in England. Hope you enjoy our range of fine real ales.

Handpull cask at the Olde Vaults, Oswestry. Dark gold with a massive off-white head. Light aroma, a bit floral with some vanilla bean and some toast. Sweet at first, moving to a balanced taste with some chalky bitterness in the finish. Lime peel notes in the aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Ok.

Cask pint, hand-pulled at Ye Olde Vaults, Oswestry Shropshire on 27th Nov 2018. Brown to amber bodied, clear and clean; smooth creamy head in colour and texture that gave some good lacing. More malty than hoppy, nice easy drinking blend. Went very well with my Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas.

Gravity poured half-pint on 6th Sep 2014 at the Bridgnorth Beer Festival. Good amber hue to the colour with a full head. Semi-sweet feel to the malty and fruity brew, plenty of flavour for a 3.8% beer, the finish mildly hop dry.

Gravity pour from the barrel on 6th Sep 2014, half-pint, Bridgnorth Beer Festival. Really black with treacle and toffee in the nose. Fairly sweet taste as well, hints of both chocolate and liquorice if you dig deep enough below the molasses. Nice beer.
