Description

At a tasting, thanks, small stable bubbly head, brown to dark red and quite clear color, aroma of dried figs and dates, mushrooms and some caramel, flavor of caramel and bread, medium sweetness, light bitterness. Not much of a porter.

Almost opaque brown-dark pour, with a pleasant espresso-coloured head. Smells heavily of lactose and dark cherries, like a cheap oatmeal stout. The taste is sweet and malty, the alcohol being a bit too present. Sweet cherries and dark chocolate can also be detected, as well as vanilla and something I can only identify as artificial sweetener. The aftertaste is medicinal bitter, kind of stinging the tongue.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks rayaron. Brown. Aroma of caramel, oxidation, honey, fruitiness, toast, a bit of licorice, and alcohol. Sweet flavor with caramel, fruitiness, oxidation, a light chocolate hint, and alcohol. Medium-bodied. Not really my thing.

Opaque deep brown colour with a red hue, large frothy beige head, good retention, fair lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel, brown sugar, dark fruits, cocoa, nutmeg. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter, with medium duration, malty, fruity, light licorice, nutmeg. Medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, aftertaste sweetbitter, roasty, nutmeg. A nice Bock, pity about the nutmeg, just to dominating.

Bottle at home. Hazy orange golden with big but short lasting white head. Sweet grains and cake, cloves, apple juice, lychee, light lemon. Medium sweet and light sour. Over medium bodied with sticky feel. Doesnβt really fit the style at all, but drinkable beer.

Bottle at home. Slightly hazy light golden with big fluffy white head. Herbs, light lime peel, dough, bakers yeast, grapefruit, light bitter leaves, cotton. Light sweet and medium bitter with long lasting grassy, almost earthy finish. Medium bodied with quite some carbonation. Decent beer, but a bit too grassy bitter in the finish.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grassy hop, some mint. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a big woody hop, light resin bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish.
