As a macro pale lager aficionado, I find quite humorous how IPA lovers describe the terribly on style taste of this style. You know, its a real man's kinda beer! This pounder can pours slight haze on an orange yellow pale background. Maybe some green grapefruit on the olfactory. First taste is what else but en-vogue typical straight up ass IPA design of inelegance and gracelessness. Its coarseness, crudeness and bitter tastefulness is utter vulgarity. In the middle I find its medicinal character clumsy garish tacky and unrefined. Its nasty kitsch crudeness and grotesqueness will be glitz for any IPA expert and judge in matters of IPA. A rude ass taste. After my first real IPA experience, all my beer friends on RB said my palate would eventually mature enough to like IPA. Well, its been 59 year, I don't think its gonnah happen. There, you have it. Finish is intense, bitter, long and ill mannered. Will somebody get me a clean cold macro lager for a chaser? Just asking.

16 oz can. Aroma is guava, bready, hint of pine, metal. Pours hazy orange-golden with a two finger off white head- white head with good retention. Taste has a light pithy bitterness with light flavors of guava, floral. Just under three months old, so not the freshest.

Pounder can for 2$ at chalet in north lima. Pour is crystal clear pale with a big foaming white head that drops down to a staying rocky crag. Nose is typical IPA flower smell with just a tad of BO or diesel in there. First taste is usual IPA; intensely bitter like its brewed with heavy loads of hops. Seems like quite a lottah isomerized natural alpha acid. These bastardly compounds are triggering my palate's bitter receptors, creating a cheap tacky, janky, scuffed, shoddy, sharp, lingering mouthful of bite. In the middle I'm also getting a little bit of that veggie hop thing you typically find with session IPA. Terribly on style bomb of bitter morsel tidbit tongue twister. Good level of co2 allows me to drink without gag reflex. Finish is long lasting gnarly he-man rude straight up ass bitter. You like IPA? Go for this. Its just that I don't like IPA and won't tick em; unless that is, they're really cheap. There you have it. Easy peezie BS IPA squeezy. .

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours a sort of pinkish orange gold with a moderate white head that slightly laced. Aroma of pale malt and hibiscus. Medium body. Juicy, and and not dry, but there is just about enough bitterness for balance. Flavor is pale, somewhat obscured by hibiscus and an amount of pink guava that is less than I would like. Nice flavor though.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours lightly hazy gold with a humongous white head that persisted for a long time before lacing. Pineapple for aroma. Med and lush body. Juicy but bitter balances nicely. Flavor is pineapple, citrus and green melon. Quite nice.

US Pint can from Trader Joe's, drank on 31st March 2026 in Laguna Hills at my daughters. Slight haze to the golden body, white head. Nice hoppy blend, both piney and citrusy and with a decent bitterness over a solid malty base. Happy 30th Coronado Brewing!

US Pint can from a Trader Joe's, drank on 29th March 2026 at my daughters in Laguna Hills. Hazy dull golden body, white crust. Citrus fruits abound with semi bitter lemon and grapefruit life flavours tempered by a sweet pineapple vibe. It's fine, but nothing to set it above so many others being brewed in Southern California at the moment.
