Description
Over 30 varieties of hops are available in the UK, Maltsters are falling over themselves to be innovative in their treatment of barley, micro-breweries are seeing a resurgence. All this makes brewing truly an art form. So with the muse upon us we thought we would get creative and start doing this for ourselves. We’ve set up a micro-brewery at Brogdale Farm in Faversham in Kent. We live near-bye and it’s great for making deliveries across Kent’s North Downs. We’re hoping our beers will be enjoyed by people who have already discovered the delights of crafted beer and we want to cheer-on those new ale drinkers who want to join in with the ale revolution going on in the UK looking for something fresh and modern to drink. If what you’re looking for is “rock-bottom-cheap” and cold enough to freeze your tonsils this may be the wrong place for you, if you want taste and flavour and a genuinely delicious experience then welcome to Mad Cat Brewery and the craft beer revolution.

Clear amber beer, fair size pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin malts, modestly sweet. Jester hops are great but need to be liberally applied. Here they are thin piney floral citrus and orchard fruits. Light dry finish. Tidy but more hops please!

Clear gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin malts, slightly dry, some cereal. The Rakau feels sparsely used to me, not getting that earthy filth I was expecting. Does have some floral bitterish thin dried fruits. Dry thin finish. Not doing anything for me but avoids offence as well.

Clear gold- amber beer, small bubbly off white head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent carbonation. Thin clean malts, a pleasing subtle cereal touch, any stronger and it would annoy me. Hops (Target, EKG and Aurora) bring a nice mellow floral citrus with touches of peel and subtler complex fruits. A little spice on the finish which is crisp and dry. Nice job. Clean and quaffable.

Pours rather clear, amber. Frothy, stable white head of average size. Scent shows mild bread, some caramelly malts, touch of peppery spice. Taste is full, caramelly, bready, sharp, tad metallic . medium body, medium high to high carbonation. Decent, at best.
