Tasting at Papsø
Hazy red-amber color; small creamy head. The aroma is very creamy and buttery, fudge. Sweet caramel and toffee flavor, a bit buttery; strong bitterness; simple. Pleasant (I don’t mind diacetyl) but controversial.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of SecretSanta himself. Pours amber with a slight haze and a small and discreetly lazing off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma and some licorice allsorts - hops too, but not excessive. Solid body, lots of fruit and caramel with perfumy hops that leave quite some bitterness. But a rather balanced IIPA that isn’t overly aggressive. And yeah, the hop cone was there! 100410

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of SecretSanta himself. Pours a deep amber with a slight haze and a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet toffee and some butter also I’m afraid. Solid body, nuts and oak, some vanilla and licorice allsorts. Quite some hops in the finish but also quite some warming acohol. 100410

On tap. Poured a clear amber with a yellow gray head. Aroma had a nice grass and pine aroma. Flavor had a very nice grassy hop note that was complimented by a nice sweet bread undertone.

Draft at the OF. Deep unfiltered red-brown color. Patchy, oily head. Big and rich, quite heavy on the specialty malt. Some mild hop tones to back it up. This is a really nice Imperial Red. Fruity amber malt thickness, very malt centered. Certainly an amber malt lovers dream come true. Mellow CO2. A little soapy. Pretty good overall, but not quite world class in my opinion.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Skyview. Thanks! Pours a dark brown color with a creamy medium sized offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is toffee with an almost roasty note. Taste is very strong with the peat with an almost vegetal character along with caramel and toffee. Some roastiness as well. Medium bodied. Peculiar. Interesting. Decent.
