Shiokaze Sweater Weather American Wheat 4% Brewed at Sakamichi brewing. Nice matte gold with thick rocky off-white foam. The aroma is mild hoppiness with eggy wheat notes. Decent.

Shiokaze x Sakamachi Brewing Three Amigos Dry Stout 4.5% Deep brown verging on black with a thick fluffy tan head. Big soft chocolate and roasted dark malts. Medium bodied with loads of bitter dark chocolate. It’s roasted and has a velvety smooth mouthfeel. I think I got hints of a medicinal element from the dark malts but it was so fleeting I may have imagined it and totally fit in with the beer. Really well integrated, I could see using it as an example of the style.

Shiokaze Shoketsu Hop-Burst Lager 5.5% I heard about this beer and wanted to try it so I was glad to spot it in Chouseiya’s online shop. Matte light gold with thick off-white foam and a big citrusy pine aroma. It’s fairly full bodied and more bitter than I’m used to these days with woodsy earthy pine dominating before you get some sweeter citrus in the aftertaste. It’s definitely bursting with hops, I’m guessing of the classic c-hop variety. Solid beer.

Interesting rich taste. Coffee, roasty. Surprisingly easy drinking

As you’d expect. Creamy wheatiness. Bit of something herbal. Touch of citrus.
