Description
A little background... In Richmond Virginia’s unbelievable beer scene, one of the pioneering brewpubs is a place called the Answer. Brandon Tolbert, as many of the craftiest craft beer folks know, was the head brewer and creative force behind this brewpub. He left the Answer a short while ago, when they started taking a different approach to making beer, and set out to do his own thing.
Well, flash forward to today and Brandon’s new creative project is imminently happening.

Orange and grapefruit nose. Cloudy orange, thick head, nice lace. Grapefruit, orange, grass. Medium body, easy carbonation.

Pours a cloudy pale straw with an off white head. Pineapple aroma. Flavors are sweet pineapple and bitter citrus.

Pint can, WW. Hazy to murky orange with a soft beige head. Juicy orange, mango, green leaf nose. Orange, pine, mango, strawberry. Not the slightest bit bitter past the first taste. Nice and juicy.

Can at home. Classy can design. Nose is fruit salad through and throug. Tons of head. Tastes of honey dew, grassy, peach, bubblegum. Soft palate.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a hazy gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Gooseberry, durian and lychee aromas present. More durian and starfruit on the palate with some papaya and cottoncandy grape flavors. Slightly warming with some pine and pith on the finish.

Pours a hazy, soft pineapple-yellow, with mid-sized head. Aroma is a rather muted citrus and tropical fruit combination. Flavor is citrus and tropical fruit, with some pine/spruce hop bitterness in the finish. The high ABV is very well-hidden in both aroma and flavor. Mouthfeel is soft and full. Not bad at all.

16oz can pours an oily, thick black with a film of brown head. Nose is sweet and big, 3 Musketeers bar, molasses, chocolate syrup, the maple reads more vanilla and treacle, super sweet coffee, mochachino. Flavor is very sweet and the 3 Musketeer is fully enveloping, chocolate syrup and coffee liqueur. Maple pins at the back and coats the tongue for a full bodied finish.
