About
Formerly known as 'La Face Cachée De La Pomme' and 'Domaine Neige' but those names no longer legally belong to François Pouliot. But this is the same orchard where the original ice cider producer continues his business after losing his trademark names in a legel settlement with his former business partners.

Hazy amber color. The aroma, quite in line with Ice Ciders, has a hazelnut accent. The mouthfeel is moderately sweet, but with a good degree of acidity; maybe too much alcohol presence, and a bit of hazelnuts in the end.
Not on par with the best ones, but pretty good.

Tasting at Matt’s, corked bottle, vintage 2012, 3+ years old
Bright dark golden color. Deep aroma, harmonious, ripe fruits. Sweet, sour, a bit astringent, with just a soft carbonation; not much caramel, but stewed apples yes.
Wonderful, again.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark orangey brownish amber with a few bubbles. Nose is rich as hell, with butterscotch, wood, dark caramelized sugar, rich sweetness and light alcohol. Flavour isn't as rich or complex, with some sherry oxidation, caramel, dark brown sugar, and light alcohol. Not the most complex ice cider out there, but still quite stunningly dense. Very good.

2012 vintage. 375mL bottle, pours a hazy vibrant orange with bubbles due to the sparkling. Nose is complex as hell, with toffee, caramel, butterscotch, that kind of thing, with syrupy apples, and lots of residual sugars. Flavour is similar, with complex butterscotch, caramel, syrupy apples, and a hint of acidity. The carbonation isn't even really noticeable -- maybe a hint of the bubbles. Another sublime product from the masters.

The cider is a medium to deep amber. Good clarity. Flat. The aroma has a full apple flavor. Caramel and juicy fruitiness. A bit woody. Vanilla. A little bit of spice, like a mild cinnamon. Big, full, complex sweetness in the taste. Caramel, brown sugar. Deep, rich sweetness. Very interesting. Full mouthfeel. Mild bitterness. Some woodsy edge to it. It’s sorta sticky but the flavors work with it well.

Poured from a bottle courtesy of ygtbsm94. Aroma has a rich apple note with some light caramelization. Apple character has a light overripe note to it. Lots of red apple skins and a hint of alcohol. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with no carbonation. No lacing and long legs. Flavor is very sweet with a ton of apple character. Some medium spiced apple notes. Nice caramelization with light red apple skin character. Light green apple notes. A bit overripe. Mouthfeel is full bodied with no carbonation. Low astringency and moderate alcohol warmth. Overall, a very nice cider. Great complexity with some spice, green and red apple meat and tannins from the skin. A light caramelization and overripe fruit note.

Bottle - Vintage 2010 - Cooked apples, some light tartness and a touch of spice. Clear copper. Sweet apple and almost bitter skins with a long intense finish. Nice, but not as nice as others I have had.

Dark amber color. Infinite fruitiness permeates the aroma. Very sweet, yet agile, sour to the right level, astringent in the final.
No matter what, La Face Cachée de la Pomme always has the best.
