33cl bottle. A clear dark reddish beer with a big beige head. Aroma of raisins, spices, red fruits, berries. Taste of raisins, caramel, fudges, red fruits, cinnamon, moderate bitterness.

33cl bottle. A clear pale golden beer with a huge and big white foam. Aroma of belgian yeast, herbal yellow fruits. Taste of herbal fruits, belgian yeast, wheat, spices, high carbonation.

Sunday 3rd Feb 2019. Strolled out to the oldest pub in Brugge and sat by the stove. Second beer I ordered was their house beer, so a 33cl bottle of it arrived with a neat glass and I drank it. Hazy pour to the amber body, decent cream coloured top. A little disappointed to be honest, fairly sweet with a marmalade/orange leaning which also had a cobweb or two within. Strange but not really interesting!

Robijnrood bier met mooie schuimkraag. Smaak is licht bitteerzoet en kruidig met een wat vreemde bijsmaak. Lijkt iets van metaal. Vind dit maar een matig bier voor een dubbel.

F: huge, off-white, long lasting. C: pale gold, bit hazy. A: malty, musty, bit chemical, grassy, bit vaguely fruity, cooked vegetables and orange peels messy, phenolic. T: relatively slow gusher after opening, it takes more than 5min to pour the glass, premium lager is beyond a joke, malty backbone, chemical bitterness, bone dry on the palate, bit orange peels, papery oxidized tones, phenolic band aid, light to medium body, medium carbonation yet huge foam, wou this is real disaster, 33cl bottle from Carrefour @ Cours St Michel in Brussels.

It isn't because you put some beer on cognac barrel, it will be good... The base beer has to be good too. Boring and monotone now...
