Filosofie

75 cl. bottle sampled @ Brugs Bier Festival 2013. Yay, bunnies. Dark woody brown with a small tanned head. Nose is sweet cacao, dark fruits, chocolate, sweet but messy & inharmonious. Taste is booze coming through in a non-complimentary way, bit much given the ABV, soy sauce, overripe fruits, chocolate, herbal, cacao powder, quite a bit messy like a collapsed cake. Bit inharmonious & touch raw body. Whilst I feel like these guys are thriving a bit at the moment due to their newness or whatever factor, this is still a bit messy, I do see them succeeding thx! to advertisement & a dash of smoke and mirrors like quite a few other BE breweries.

Fast gone yellow head over very deep chestnut beer. Sweet-nutty nose, some fusels, alcohol. Dry-bready and leafy flavours. Melanoidin overload. Bitterish-leafy notes return in force retronasal. Well-bodied, slick to viscous; no new aftertaste, but long lasting main flavours. Quite acceptable. At least the silly moniker quadruple relates to something here. Much better in quality than the De Graal brewed 8.

Sample @ Brugge Bierfest ’13. Brune trouble, col beige.

33cl bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy yellow color, medium sized white head. Smell slightly malts, slightly banana, slightly sweet and lightly herbs and spices. Taste malts, way too sweet for a tripel imo, some banana and slightly a citrussy fruitpeel-bitter touch towards the end. Can’t quite save the beer though. Nowhere near a good tripel imo.

Bottle from Berts Bierhuis, Utrecht, Netherlands, consumed outside Frank (camper) at Camping de Vliert, Camping De Maesberg, nr Arnhem, Sunday 30th September 2012 Hazy lemon colour with mid carbonation and a small white head. Soft in mouth a little flush of lemon, little spiciness. There was a little sourness on the nose but another sniff and I didn’t get it again. This isn’t bad, better than I expected, I’m quite enjoying this. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Bottle from 2 be in Brugge. Pours light gold with a creamy white head. Aromas of light fruits and mild spice. Med minus body. Tastes much like a tripel - fruit and hint of banana ester - but the flavors seem very mild. It should have more mouthfeel and stronger flavors. Drinkable, but I wouldn’t choose it over the more well known tripels.
