Cask at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer and laces nicely. Aroma has light dry, tart red fruit note backed by some earthy grains. Flavor starts with biscuit and sweet grains with a bit of dry, sour red fruit coming out in the finish.

Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a clear light amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has some light grassy hops with a backing note of sweet grains and honey. Flavor has light fruit up front with some honey that has a bit of a grassy hop finish.

Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a hazy gold with a peach hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a light grassy hop note with a good amount of barrel and yeast coming through with a hint of underlying tartness. Flavor has a light fruit and grassy start and is joined by a nice oak note and drinks easy.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear earthy golden red with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has sweet earthy hops with backing sweet grains and bread. Flavor has creamy grains up front with a bit of grassy hops and sweet hay in the finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear reddish a with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet grain and cookie with a backing light pine note. Flavor starts sweet with grains and bread with a bit of pine and bitterness in the finish.

Old rating. Sampled from the tap at the 2010 MBG Fall Fest. Poured a cloudy amber red with an yellow gray head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma had notes of caramel, light grain, light fruits and floral with a backing oak and a slight tart undertone. Flavor had more light fruit and floral notes with a bit of tartness coming through and oak in the finish.

Cask at the brewpub. Poured a clear orange with a white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was full of citrus, especially orange with hints of grapefruit. and was quite one note. Flavor began with a bit of grain but was again one note citrus and mainly sweet orange peal.

tap at the brewpub - Pours very dark brown with a creamy, light tan head. It smells of roast malt and mocha. The flavor is sweet with roast malt and chocolate. This medium to full bodied brew has a lingering roast finish. Good. Not great.

nitro tap at the brewpub - Pours black with a tan head and heavy lacing. It smells of roast malt and coffee. The flavor is of dry roast malt with some hops bitterness and a slight hint of chocolate and coffee. It’s medium bodied at most, kind of light, and overall pretty good.

cask at the brewpub - Pours clear gold with a lasting head. It has a mild citrus hop aroma. The flavor has mild to moderate hops bitterness at most and is sweet for the style. The cask gives it the typical low, smooth carbonation. It’s medium bodied and the finish is lightly bitter.
