Launched in 2015 by craft brewing enthusiast and entrepreneur, James Huey, the Walled City Brewery produces quality artisan beer. Uniquely local, premium quality, and fabulously flavoursome craft beers in small artisan batches, using recipes that James Huey has been painstakingly perfecting over the last 12 years.

The Walled City Brewery is a multi-award winning restaurant and brewhouse. By having a fully operating brewery and accompanying restaurant in the same building, It is the first of it’s kind in the country. The ethos behind the business is to provide both locals and tourists with a “Taste of the North West” through crafting local, authentic, premium quality, flavoursome beer and food.

Dark brown with a rocky tan head. A bit of chocolate, some dark malts, a little vinegar. Medium to thin body. This feels a bit off. Could be good but it’s currently not.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a brown hue and a light brown head that lasts through out the beer and laces slightly. Aroma has sweet grains and bread with a touch of toffee coming through. Flavor has sweet grains and bread with toffee and a hint of light fruits in the finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has citrus and rind with a bit of flora, grass and sweet grain underlying. Flavor has light mango and a hint of citrus with some flora and sweet grain supporting.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has sweet dark grains with light earthy roast and a bit of oyster underlying. Flavor has sweet grains and cookie with a bit of umami and light roast backing.

Draught. Clean gold with a medium head. Aroma of herbal hop. Flavour is fruity bread, hoppy in a soft sweetish finish.

Draft at the source. Dark opaque brown color, dense beige head with good retention. Nice aroma of soft spice and medium roast coffee. Taste has nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger. Light body. Tasty

Draft at the source. Staff choice, thanks! Although Leprauchan Liam recommended the Tripel, not a good starting beer. Crystal clear deep golden color. Nice stonefruit aroma. Taste is bittersweet juicyfruit. Tasty
