Description

33cl Bottle in Coevorden. Hazy golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of sweet fruits, light spice, floral malts. Flavour is medium sweet, candy, apricot, fruity, moving towards a nice malty and light hoppy bitter finish. Light-bodied. Finish saves this beer from being another bland sweet blond ale.

Bottled 33cl (BB 02/2013)
Courtesy of bierkoning, tnx Edo! Dark ruby color, steady medium-sized beige head. Caramel, toffee, vanilla, berries and some wood in the nose. Medium to full bodied. Quite sweet, caramel and some alcohol. In the aftertaste light hops. Smooth nice dessert beer. Can’t trace any "rook".

Bottled 330ml (BB 08/2012)
Thanks bierkoning! Hazy orange color, big cloudy head, nice lace. Hayish and piney hoppyness, light vegetably notes. Medium-bodied. Quite sweet, fruity (kiwi, mango, strawberries) and yeasty. Should be a bit more hoppy, now quite berryish. Some alcohol in the finish.

Sampled @ PINT Winterbierfestival, Gouda 2012. Hazy dark orange to red color, small beige head. Smell no smoke at all, just malts, alcohol and sweetness. taste alcohol , malts, sweetness and lightly some herbs or spices. Too sweet in my opinion. Decent carbonation, medium body.

On tap at PINT Winterbierfestival ’12. Dark amber brown beer, dense off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, very fruity, not a hint of the promised smoke, typical sweet barley wine with some roasted malts. Flavour idem. Nice thick sweet beer.
