On tap @ the brewery in Hudson. Pours a hazy, bright yellow appearance with a white head. Somewhat citrusy, lightly buttery, lemon flavor. Butter is a lot heavier in the flavor with some citrusness. Somewhat bitter.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Again, either an old or infected bottle. This is the third gusher I’ve had from them. Pours a dark, dirty caramel color. Aroma of skanky malt and some pine hops. Taste is medium bitter. Hints of pine resin and a little caramel. Full bodied with a thick and slightly sticky texture. Fizzy carbonation and way too long of a finish. The finish is straight pine sap. Overall, meh. Boozy warmth is nice, but everything else is bad. There is also some weird chemical aftertaste. Regardless of wether or not it’s an old bottle, I’m done with this company. 3 different bottles of 3 different brands have all been gushers, and I’m not about to seek out a 4th.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear gold with a huge amount of white head. Maybe an old bottle? Like half the glass is foam. Aroma of some light citrus hops and a little spicy Belgian yeast. Taste is light bitter and follows aroma with a strong taste of cereal grains and just a hint of skunk. Light bodied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation with a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. I’m rating this higher in a couple categories that I actually believe just because I think this is an old bottle and I don’t want to penalize the brewery for that.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy dark amber with a half finger of off-white head. Aroma of caramel and toffee with a decent hint of citrus. Taste is all malt. Caramel and toffee with a hint of skunk. Full bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation but a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Nothing super special but enjoyable.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered glowing orange-red body. Thin, steady, oily whtie head. Sweet amber malt all the way. Cherry vanilla. A pretty decent Amber, does the style pretty well. Not much real hop character to speak of, maybe some mild Fuggles or something in the background. A touch undercarbonated. OK, average malt forward Amber.

12oz bottle...a few months old. Unfiltered orange-tan body. Steady, creamy, thin white head. Grainy malt bill, high carbonation, and a steady bitter dry hop backbone. After a few sips I realized this wasn’t a typical Blonde..maybe a Belgian yeast as others have asserted? It grew on me. It has a nice depth of character between the creamy unfiltered body, fruity Belgian yeast notes, and dry bitterness. The dryness fades into the second half of the glass, and more creamy yeast notes come out. OK.

Sweet oily nose, candy sugar, oily herbs, some bitter herbs,… taste is oily bitter, chestnuts, malts, big malts, chunk of rye bread light candy sugar, oily chestnuts, finish is pretty bitter, very floral bitter. Okay but too much malt, rye bread in here for an IPA.

Sampled from bottle @ the some people are tired tasting (after borefts 2013 day 1). Clear dark orange color, medium sized quickly diminishing off - white head that leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma is malts, hops, a bit sweetish. Taste malts, hops, some sweetness, pretty bitter. Once you’ve swallowed you get a nice mix of malts, hops and bitter but before that it seems off balance somehow. Wonder how this tastes fresh / straight from the origin.

Wow, can’t believe that I’m only the 4th to review this...12 oz bottle bought @ De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Copper to brown color, slightly hazy. Uneven off white head. Aroma’s: citrus, tropical fruit, caramel with some hop bitterness and roasted malts added retronasal. Flavor is rather bitter with a malty sweet backbone. Medium bodied. Long bitter finish. Nice IPA.
