Undated can drunk 9/28/25.
Clear bright, ferrous-copper. Small, white head.
Nose is kind of earthy, a bit dull, with a fair bit of mineral and old, crusty bread. Obviously this has sat in the cooler for a while, given the brewery isn't even in business any longer. Hops, if they were prominent, have fully faded. Not all that rich of malt, is my worry here.
Unfortunately, there's a rather prominent chemical note up front coupled with the earthiness and dry, crackery, stale bread. Almost chlorine-like. Body is light but not thin, beer is dry with not too much toast. Needs more malt depth/richness, but more pressing, it needs to not have this slight chemical flavor. Dumped after a few sips.

Aromas of mild yeast, grain, pear. Soft and dry with grain and yeast front to back. Maybe hints of pear and subtle minerals. Soft floral bitterness for balance. Crisp texture. Nice drinking table beer!

Can pour into nonic pint glass. Appearance is clear, light orange-yellow pour until the last bit, which was a yeast dump and turned it into a beer snow globe. Fair sparkle and finger-width off-white ephemeral foamy head with no lacing. Aroma is strong citrus, grapefruit and subtler pine, faintest hint of alcohol. Taste is peach, citrus, grapefruit, dank pine over bready malt backbone. Palate is medium side of light-to-medium bodied, thin texture, average carbonation, mild numbing of the lips and alcohol warmth with dry, mostly grapefruit finish including lingering moderate bitterness. Overall, the look could use a major overhaul but either have on tap or don't pour the last bit and you'll be much happier. Aroma is strong but the taste is the highlight.

16 oz. pint served on gravity at The Cask Republic, New Haven, CT. Appearance is a soft orange/ yellow color with a mild carbonation level. Flavor has a subtle mango, mango skin, and a grainy texture. Shows just a hint of bitterness. Medium body and rather easy to drink.

Taster pour at Craft Brew Race New Haven. Appearance is clear, very pale yellow (like ginger ale), light lacing, no sparkle. Aroma is yeasty tart more than anything, light wheat. Taste is yeasty, floral tartness, some earth. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with watery texture, soft carbonation and tart finish. Overall, light and palate cleansing as advertised. More tart than I’d like.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace.
The aroma strikes some piney and citrusy bitter hops against some sweet dark grains. Light dark roast underneath.
The flavor blends a subtle sweet roast to the bitterness of the piney hops. Seems to want to lay back more than I expected and allow the roast and sweet portions control the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sipping quality about it. Good grip from the bitterness, mildly appropriate yet absorbing with the ABV feeling appropriate.
Overall, nicely done black IPA worthy of having again.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a milky brown color with a nice looking white foamy head. Dissipated appropriately, nice lace.
The aroma had some crisp sweet roasted nuts up front with a nice caramel/toffee malt base. Not sure what the hopping was, supposedly it’s wet hopped, but seems slightly grassy with some floral notes.
The flavor leans towards the malty side decently, roasty and a touch of sweet. Some breadiness shows up here. Lingering toasty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a good sessionability about it. ABV felt right.
Overall, wouldn’t mind knowing what hops they put in this, but still a nice offering by this little Connecticut brewery that I wouldn’t mind having again.
