Description
The Brewerie opened its doors back in 2006 as Erie’s lone brew pub and restaurant. Before that time, finding a craft beer downtown was a difficult proposition. Finding a local craft beer was an impossible one. So with beer in our blood {in the most literal and figurative sense} we set out to create beer that we liked, food that we enjoyed and a space that was unique and unconventional. And along the way, support local people & businesses that support us. That was our mission. Our vision was lofty and ambitious: To help revitalize downtown Erie & the historic Union Station... one pint at a time. Our philosophy was simple and “C-centric”: CRAFT a great product. CARE for our staff and patrons. And be COMMUNITY focused & driven. Years later, that’s all still at the heart of what we do. Brewing some good.

Some banana aroma in there fer sure. Makes me think of a real hefe. Nice and dark looking. Decent co2 from the start, quite sizzly and I like that. Weird spicey things going right off the first taste. This beer appears to be some kind of brown ale that is spiced up to imitate a hefe, very unique. Does seem to be a little stronger than the 5.5% it claims to be. Spiced up beer that makes for an odd finish.

Mind you, I am not a fan of strong Belgian ales, so ignore my humanistic numbers if you like this style; it is on style. Color of pale lager. Has that belgian aroma in there. A little strong on the initial taste. After a while I think I detect a slight wild side to it. Mild co2. Alky kick fer sure. Some medicinal effects on the finish.

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy dark orange colour. Almost no head. Citric flavour. Orange juice? Strange milk acid flavour. Not an IPA, and certainly not a monster one.

Draught at the brewpub. Aniseed aroma. Cloudy dark amber colour. Sweet flavour, lots of aniseed with a ginger bite. A bit confusing, but drinkable. A bit of alcohol bite.

Draught at the brewpub. Earthy aroma. Clear brown colour. Very small tan head. The flavour is caramelly and piney. OK sweetness. A nice American IPA. Good bitterness, but not overwhelming.

Draught at the brewpub. Vinous aroma, some wine gum. Cloudy brown colour. The flavour starts off vinous as well. Gets a little sweet with some spice, perhaps mild aniseed. Slightly medicinal.

Draught at the brewpub. Sweet and sugary berry aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is fruity, slightly acetic. Actually a good combination. Better than most fruit beers.
