(Bottle) Hazy golden colour with brief foamy head. Fruity, spicy nose with apricots, orange peel, coriander, white bread and banana bread. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of apricots, orange peel, white bread, banana and coriander. Low bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced and refreshing. Nice one.

330ml can. Clear gold with white head. Aroma and taste is sweet and earthy with overripe fruity banana and citrus. Mouthfeel is the best part being medium bodied with a fine carbonation and prickly spice. OK.
LCI. SbS with a Chinese barley wine, thanks Jack K. Vinous and woody, lots of barrel, but smoothed out. Boozy as it warms. Jack’s photo.

Bottle pour at Open Baladin, pours a dark amber, served with a lime wedge. Nose smells like vermouth, burnt sugars, and alcohol. Flavour is very unusual, with plenty of vermouth, lots of spices, and toffee. I’m not a vermouth fan so I don’t really appreciate this, but I guess it’s good for what it is.

On tap at Open Baladin - Rome, pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Nose almost has diacetyl notes, along with apple juice concentrate. Flavour isn’t much better, tasting like a regular sweet apple juice. Finishes lightly carbonated, with little complexity. Pretty poor.

On tap at Open Baladin - Rome, pours a cloudy bright amber red with a small white head. Aroma has notes of marzipan, red fruits, toffee, and a touch of spicy Belgian yeast. Flavour is similar, with toffee, marzipan, red fruits, and moderate estery sweetness to finish. Not the most refined and too sweet and estery, but still decent.

On tap at Open Baladin - Rome, pours a clear bright reddish amber with a small white head. Aroma is full of red berries, toffee, cherry liqueur, and light esters. Flavour is very fruity, with tons of red fruits, moderate esters, and toffee. Tons of red fruits and pleasant esters, but I can’t say I’m a fan.

On tap at Open Baladin - Rome, pours a cloudy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma has a nice spicy Belgian yeast character, gentle esters, and red berries. Flavour is much the same, with lots of red berries, fruity esters, light spiciness from the yeast, and light-to-moderate residual sweetness. Decent.

Bottle: Poured a deep burgundy color barleywine with no real foamy head. Aroma of deep caramelized notes with dry fruits notes and some barrel notes. Taste is also a mix of deeply caramelized malt notes with dry fruits and a semi-sweet finale. Body is pretty full with good carbonation with some discernible alcohol notes. Nice still barleywine with some nice oak notes - one of a kind.
