27th May 2015: on tap at the Carlsbad Pizza Port. Amber to brown body, the head a small beige affair. Malty nose with the molasses giving off toffee and caramel aromas, these carried on into the taste which was sweet and malty also. Mild bitterness arrives mid-sip and stays to give the finish a better balance than the initial taste. I liked it.

On my first flight of the day at Pizza Port, Carlsbad: 27th May 2015. Very pale golden pour with a thin white head. Like most lager based beers this had very little aroma or taste to me: some corn and grainy notes but that is all. Refreshing enough and a good palate cleanser for the delights that were to follow. A little disappointing to be honest, expected a bit more for such a ’well thought of’’ brewing company.

Draft at DLD 15. Coffee ground and chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown with minimal head. Sweet milky coffee and malt flavor. Bitter coffee ground finish. Pretty sweet but I enjoyed it.

Pours golden, nice white foam. Aroma of Belgian yeast, candy. Taste feels really Belgian as well, feeling as if in Brussels. Sweet, with subdued bitterness and much more powerful than your usual Belgian ale. Some sour notes in the aftertaste.

Clear deep golden color. Frothy white head. Malty bready nose with coriander and orange peel. Big malty mouth, very full bodied but alcohol well hidden and fairly easy to drink. Definetely a Duvel wannabe.

Keg at PP Ocean Beach, 13/11/14. Clear golden amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is toffee, light spice, dark fruit rinds, nutty tones. Taste comprises caramel, nutty, malt tones, dark fruit, spice, light woody notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok for style.
