(bottle) Dark brown colour with a beige mid-sized foamy head. Roast-malty aroma with notes of ground coffee beans, woodsmoke, dark chocolate and liquorice. Roasty bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Roasted malt character with hints of charred wood, coffee and dark chocolate; dry roast-malty and slightly ashy finish. Somewhat extreme with its ashtray flavours. 27.II.18

Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting in Chez Sophie on 20th Feb 2018; 330ml bottle from Simon, cheers mate. Wispy white head, misty golden/amber body. Dank hops ruled the nose and taste for me, light citrus leanings alongside some mild malty sweetness, but overall it's those dank hops that dominate the flavours and beer throughout.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb 18, courtesy of Simon. Pours a misty amber, small off-white head. Marmalade aroma. Taste has a similar pithy bitter fruity character, thin, bitter, drying, bit dirty tasting, metallic. Not great.

Bottle 500ml. @ [ chriso & Boudicca's pre- GBBF Shindig 2016 - Day 2 ] - Chris and Ruth's House, London. [ As Wooha Porter ].Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, dark roasted, dark malt, light coffee, smoke notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, dark malt, roasted, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Bottle: Pitch black, presumably not clear, rather quickly collapsing creamy tanned head, distinctive dry bitter-roasty and fruity (dried fruits, what else...) nose with traces of cacao-powder; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, not without the inevitable light acidity, barely medium bodied; lingering dry bitter-ashy finish with some roasty and fruity spots. Just good...

Cask halfpint, unfined, at The Granite City (JDW), Aberdeen Airport. ABV was said to be 4.0%. Very pale blonde colour, small white head. Slightly citrussy aroma. Distinctly citrussy flavour, decent hops. *Also had bottle from Bris Ølutsalg, Jørpeland. ABV is 4.0%.
