12 oz can from a non RB friend who comes to the Bistro’s Fests! Thanks Tim! Nose of a hint of citrusy hoppiness, a sweet caramelly malty note, and some light fruitiness; hazy yellow with a big, glass-lacing, white head; flavor is lightly bitter, with some caramel and golden raisin notes; finish is slightly more bitter than the first taste. And I agree with Todd (CapFlu), excellent! Wish I could get these here; will have to look for a case for sessioning when I hit the Bay area.

Cloudy dark chestnut. Fudgey, chocolatey, nutty aroma. Sweet flavour. Some fattiness in the body, sulphur on the nose. Bland, sugary. Didn’t get what they were getting at.

Canned, Organic Pilsner. Very hazy straw colour. Hop nose (Sterling?) with light bready backbone. Low bitterness, mossy hops, fresh breezy malts. The freshness of the malts really wins the day for this brew.

Dark brown colour. Quite chewy, crazy intense dark malts. The malts never really gel but it’s an interesting beer and not awful.

Dark brown colour. Chocolatey, with some dark fruits. Almost light. Slightly sticky malts. Subtle dark fruits. Late alcohol. Decent but lacks complexity for the style.

Light chestnut color. Faint, nutty aroma. Sort of extracty gasoline taste. Vague nuts. Really unpleasant.

Straw colour. Faint, grainy aroma. Slightly bready, fruity-hoppy character. Light body. Low bitterness. A bit more flavourful than the average brewpub starter but nonetheless true to its roots as a boring beer.

Draught at the brewpub. Black. Light raspberry aroma. Sweet with surprisingly light body and clean mouthfeel. The most evident flavours are roasted malt and raspberries. Finishes with a late blast of burning alcohol.

Draught at the brewpub. Transparently black. Light coffee aroma. Very sweet with syrupy mouthfeel. The flavours of coffee and chocolate are overpowered by molasses. Fairly low bitterness, notes of burnt malt. Unrefined.
