Can from a trade. Pours hazy straw color with a thick three-finger head that dissipates within minutes leaving some residue on sides of glass. Aroma is hoppy--maybe some lemon lime, citrus, and light grassy notes. Flavor is mostly hoppy with some light malt in the finish. Similar flavors to the nose. Palate is slightly oily but overall refreshing. Solid hoppy pils.

Bottle from Steve. Opaque dark brown, persistent ring of head, nice viscosity, no lacing. Aroma is strong vanilla, coffee, mild cinnamon, roasted malt, subtle dark fruit, not much barrel. Taste is as aroma with late bourbon, little-to-no Rye contribution (other than maybe cutting alcohol). Smooth, thick texture, medium bodied, soft carbonation, slightest esophageal warmth but alcohol mostly covered well. Wish the barrels were a bit more pronounced, which would have cut the sweetness. Speaking of which, this is quite sweet and would not have wanted to have more than the ~ 6 oz. pour that I had.
