On tap at Dos Aves, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma has dusty dry cocoa, earthiness, and toasted malt. Flavour is fairly dry, with powdery, dry cocoa powder, earthiness, and toasted malt. Pretty lifeless palate, too powdery, and lacking malts. Nothing offensive, just lifeless and lacking depth.

On tap at Dos Aves, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma has toasted nuts, dusty earthiness, and bready malt. Flavour is dry, with bready malt, some earthiness, toasted nuts, and a touch of toffee. Nice malt base, reasonably dry, but just enough sugars. Pleasant.

On tap at Dos Aves, pours a clear pale golden with a medium white head. Aroma has plenty of resinous hops, bitter citrus peel, and sweet bready malt—seems a bit jagged in balance. Flavour is sweet, with subdued resinous hops, sweet sugary malts, and caramel. Unbalanced, with not enough hops to match the sugary malts. Not great.

On tap at Dos Aves, pours a hazy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma reveals some estery Belgian yeast, light candi sugar, and some earthy, resinous hops in back. Flavour is sweet and estery, with too much estery character, sweet candi sugar, and very subdued hops. Too estery and sweet. Doesn’t work.

On tap at Dos Aves, pours a clear pale golden with a medium white head. Aroma has plenty of vanilla upfront, with subdued grassiness and biscuity malt to back. Flavour has some crisp grassiness that actually melds decently with the vanilla, with a fairly dry, vanilla-y finish. Weird concept; executed reasonably.

On tap at Dos Aves. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Crisp pine and some bright tropical fruit on the nose. Flavour is dominated by a harsh, syrupy malt profile with some piney hop accents. Some bitterness on the finish. Not well-calibrated.

On tap at Dos Aves. Pours black with a beige head. Dusty toasted malts on the nose; kind of boozy. Flavour has dry toasted malts and a surprisingly harsh booziness for the ABV. Body is quite thin. A bit of a train wreck.

On tap at Dos Aves. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Fruity bubblegum Belgian yeast on the nose. Flavour has plenty of bubblegum and very little hops to speak of. Not great, Belgian yeast is not well-used.

On tap at Dos Aves. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Sweet vanilla biscuits and some dry grass on the nose. Flavour has vanilla biscuits and dry grassy hops; slightly bitter on the finish. A strange idea but pretty well executed.
