Description

Cloudy medium amber, many floating yeast particles, small but stable frothy white head, good sticky lacing. Sweet malty aroma, apple, candy sugar, caramel, coriander. Taste heavy sweet, slightly sour, a tad bitter, apple. Medium to full body, oily to creamy texture, lively carbonation, fruity sweet and sugary aftertaste, bitter malty notes, bit spicy, alcohol. Strange tripel, somewhat unbalanced, all in all too sugary.

Huge, very fine & dense yellowish head, fed by finely carbonated hazy orange-golden beer. Bit sharpish, spicy nose. Dried orangepeel, orangeliqueur; generally speaking rather sweet nose. Again sharpish, toasted, and mainly sweet flavour with again citrus, again mainly orange/orangepeel and -liqueur. Feels spritzy, very carbonated. Long spiced-syrupy flavour; hints at alcoholwarmth and -sweet. Well, yeah. Another beer. Another beerfirm. And another promise of (three...)hops.

Hazy orange amber colour, small frothy white head, disappears after a while, thin layer remains. Fruity aroma, peach, honey, yeast, alcohol, citrus. Taste medium sweet and bitter, hint of citrus. Medium body, oily texture, prickly mouthfeel, bittersweet finish with fruity notes.

Bouteille 33cl de HopDuvel, huge gusher, lost 1/2 on the table. BB 28/03/2015.

13/II/14 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 28/III/15 (2014-192)
Clear orange beer, lots and lots of very small chunks floating through the glass giving it a cloudy appearance, huge fizzy dense white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very sweet and sugary, some caramel, sweet malts, ripe banana. MF: way too much carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet in the start, sugary, fruity notes, sour touch, quite some orange peel, little spicy. Aftertaste: some apple sauce, bit metallic, hoppy touch, chemical unpleasant bitterness, sugar and banana remaining as a bad memory after swallowing.

Bottled @Tuulensuu
Slightly hazy orange-amber color, good creamy off-white head. A bit fruity, Belgian yeasty, earthy hoppyness. Medium-bodied. Quite hoppy, alcoholic front, then also citrus acidity. Citrusy lingering aftertaste and warming alcohol. Basic, although wellmade strong Belgian ale.
