Oct. ’14. On tap at the Fischer Bräu, Vienna. I was sure it was their beer, it was offered as a regular dunkel on tap along with their own helles. It poured clear dark red body with medium sized head. Completely malty aroma, mostly caramel and some roasted sugar. Flavor was very sweet, too, again with the same as in aroma. Full body, I guess since it was too cloying sweet? No complexity, utterly simple. I wrote down it’s a complete fail. Now, when I know it’s not a brewpub thing it makes some sense.

Bottle [from Euro Swap 7 thanks to Sebilinz] @ home. Clear golden color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly grains, quite hayish, lightly bitter. Low to average body and average carbonation. Decent lager.

Bottled in Vienna. From old notes. Very nice, full bodied, sweet but very fruity white beer with some citrus notes working together with the cloves and banana. Pretty good.

Bottle. Clear, pale golden body, with a big, frothy, white head. Aroma of grains, hay, grass, honey. Taste is a bit watery, with grains, bread, herbs, honey. Mouthfeel is light, slick, with a low carbonation and it finishes medium bitter, with grains and herbs. Average Pilsener, nothing special.

Pours out a typical golden color, clear, and topps the glass with an average white foamy head that goes away rather soon. The aroma is again nothing special. There are some malts and some (sweet) grains present. The tatse naturally follows the nose. Sweet start, followed by balanced body coming together with mild (only just) bitterness. Nice, drinkable, ordinary.

Bottle, 500 ml, Austria. Pours golden colored, small head, watery. Regular boring Austrian marzen.

Draught at Krah Krah, Vienna. Dark copper clear body with medium white head. Light aroma of roasted malt, caramel, bread. Taste is very sweet, with caramel, candy, red berries, bread, some roastyness, only a light bitterness. Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a sweet, slightly roasty finish. Overall much too sweet and pretty one-dimensional.
