Description
Alpine Beer Company began with Patrick and Valerie McIlhenney in 1999. We are a small-town brewery, nestled in the foothills of the mountains just outside of San Diego. From IPAs to small-batch sours, we’ve been crafting high-quality ales since 1999. Known as the “Home of Pure Hoppiness,” people travel from near and far to try our special brews. Now you can bring home a little taste of hoppiness from Alpine.

In 2014 Alpine Beer Company and Green Flash officially joined forces, allowing for the expansion that Pat had been working on to become an immediate reality.

In December 2021, Alpine Beer Co. was acquried by Atlanta-based SweetWater Brewing Co.

22 oz bomber purchase Oct. ’06 in Alpine consumed 02/05/07. Poured out clear deep copper with thin off white head. The aroma has sweet malty caramel and lightly roasted malts along with a light smattering of hops. The flavor is much like the aroma with sweet caramelized malts, roasted malts and light hints of vague hoppiness. It ends with less sweet roasted malts. Nice malty brew.

22 oz bomber purchase Oct. ’06 in Alpine Consumed 01/14/07. Gold color with tiny yet long lasting bright white head. Light aroma of sweet malts and a bit of citrus. Smells similar to their Pale Ale. Flavor has malts, honey and citrus that hit all at once near the beginning of the sip. At about the midway point a sweet grapefruit note enters. As the finish approaches the mandarin fruitiness builds and then lingers.

22 oz bomber. Golden color with nice creamy off white head. The aroma was sweet maltiness with solid citrus hops. The flavor is much like the aroma. Some sweet malts that go nicely with the citrus/grapefruitiness hops. Very nice west coast Pale but nothing to write home about.

On Tap @ brewery. Clear golden color with bright white head. The sweet apricot fruit in the aroma mixed seamlessly with the sweet malt. The flavor is decidedly fruity from the apricot. Again like the aroma the sweet malts used in this beer blend well with the sweet fruit flavor. This brew was constructed to appease the none beer dinking crowd.
