Description
Alpine Beer Company began with Patrick and Valerie McIlhenney in 1999. We are a small-town brewery, nestled in the foothills of the mountains just outside of San Diego. From IPAs to small-batch sours, we’ve been crafting high-quality ales since 1999. Known as the “Home of Pure Hoppiness,” people travel from near and far to try our special brews. Now you can bring home a little taste of hoppiness from Alpine.
In 2014 Alpine Beer Company and Green Flash officially joined forces, allowing for the expansion that Pat had been working on to become an immediate reality.
In December 2021, Alpine Beer Co. was acquried by Atlanta-based SweetWater Brewing Co.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: orangey color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which died off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet wheat, honey, vanilla, wet grains and slightly nutty
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fair sweet tone; finishes wheaty, honey-ish and nutty
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, some smoothness
Overall: interesting take on an APWA, hmmm, maybe I could return to this.

Aroma: citrusy to piney hops, subtle grassiness under that then a clean malt bill
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine bittersweet level; finishes citrusy & piney
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, good smoothness, some hop assertiveness
Overall: pretty good APA I'd be willing to come back to.

On tap at the Churchkey, DC. A pungent nose featuring grapefruit, orange and some pine resin. The taste starts off with a bang as well, with bitter resin and grapefruit backstopped by a touch of sweet malt. But the taste falls away quickly and thins out way to soon. Quite high carbonation.
