Description
Mad Hatter Brewing Company was set up by Gaz and Sue in 2013, with just one grand in their back pockets, and a glorified home brew set up. The brewery has always punched above its weight, and was championed from the start by the brilliant Port St Beer House. They produce weird and wonderful beers alongside some classic pale ales, stouts and IPAs.

15/9/2018. Bottle from Hopsters, Ipswich. Pours thick, almost black with a dark brown head. Aroma of coffee, lactose, deep roasting, dark fruits, hazelnut and chocolate. Medium sweetness and medium to heavy roasted bitterness. Full bodied, extremely thick texture, and very soft carbonation. Really good, and definitely the thickest beer I've had for such a modest abv.

Not quite there yet.

Lett tåkete gulbrun med høyt offwhite skum. Lukter sitrus og lett sydhavsfrukt. Smaker sitrusskall. (Eebria Taproom)

Bottle shared with OGJ and JMD at True North, Stavanger, 13.09.18. Translucent orange amber. Small off-white head. Fine aroma and taste of plums, plum stones, corrints, dates and English Christmas cakes - skillfully balanced with bitterness and a hint of bark.

0.33l bottle. Hazy orange body with a quickly collapsing white head. Aroma of lime zest, mango, peach and some pepper. Taste of hay, lemon zest, peach, lime juice, grape seed and some grassy hops. Light bodied with a lively carbonation. As a matter of fact this bottle was past it's best before date, but I think it's not that crutial for sours. Actually it's still an OK beer.

Pours extra hazy orange golden, topped with a gushing, large but quickly settling white foamy head. Gentle soury fruity nose, some gooseberries, white grapes and unripe apples. Strong puckery sourness upfront, shortlived, a hint of sweetness which is immediately covered by harsh herbal bittery feel. Lighter body. Medium aftertaste. Too herbal for my liking, really. Too bad, it promised a lot.
