Swing top bottle. Fresh roasted coffee aroma, delicious! Malty flavor with cinnamon, dark chocolate, coffee and a hint of rubber. Oily bitter. Light coffeebitter aftertaste. Just below medium bodied. Tones of dried fruit. Very nice and very well balanced porter.

Swing top bottle. dark brown color. Rosebuds, cinnamon, plums, blackcurrant and hops in the aroma. Full bodied. Herbal hopbitter flavor with rosebuds, plums, dried fruit. Malty sweet. Coreander in the aftertaste. Decent balance, and loads of flavor.

Batch # 241, 1 of 744 bottles. Swing top bottle. dark brown color, big frothy head. Caramelaroma with cinnamon and licorice. malty sweetish, yeasty, slightly herbal flavor. Thin and watery. Brown sugar. Looks and smells better as it tastes.

Swing top bottle. Opague, dark brown creamy head. Roasted malt and a hint of smoke and dark chocolate in the aroma. Malty, medium to full bodied, very powerful porter. Loads of roast, hints of beechwood and cacao. Dark roasted espresso. Heavy stuff, although you really can’t taste much alcohol. 8 4 7 4 16 = 3.9 Can @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2009. The Old Swing top bottle version is history, so this one will count for the rating. Almost black and opague. Roast and apple syrup in the aroma and flavor. Roastbitter finish with some aluminium. Still quite OK, but in no way comparable to the ’old’ Olfabrikken.

Swing top bottle. Dark brown color, creamy head. Dominant grapefruit and red berries aroma, cascade hops. Hoppy, earthy, sweetish flavor with lioads of citrus. Red berries. Earthy bitter aftertaste. maybe a bit excaggerated Cascade flavor, but all n all a good balance and a lovely aroma and flavor.

Batch # 239, swing top bottle. Dark brown color, foamy head. Blackcurrant, citrus and a touch of caramel in the aroma. Earthy hoppy flavor with red berries, dark chocolate and again a touch of caramel. An orgy of flavors, but needs more balance.
