Description
In 1992, Paul Theakston took a daring leap into the unknown. As a fifth generation brewer of his family company, he chose to leave T&R Theakstons following its sale to a national brewery. Instead, he chose to champion independent brewing in Yorkshire and built his own brewery in the very same town, Masham. The brewhouse contains a mixture of tradition and innovation, using the Yorkshire Square Fermentation system which we hold dearly. Our original brewhouse was built from reclaimed equipment which we still use to this day.

Cask@The George. Ambery golden colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is earth, flowery hops and also some slight citrusfruity sweet notes. Flavour is earth, bready malts, caramel and it gets quite graint notes in the finish.

Location: .5 liter bottle from Gilly's, 7/14/09
Aroma: Fruity, roasty malts, caramel, light hops
Appearance: Clear orange-amber color, light tan head
Flavor: Smooth roasted malts, grassy/bitter hop finish
Palate: Dry and smooth, lightish body
Overall Impression: This beer was tasty, could have been better, but I enjoyed it enough. A little pricey for what it is, at least where I got it.

Cask, the Grand Sheffield. Golden color. Malty biscuity butterscotch aroma, slightly salty. Malty biscuity buttery flavor with butterscotch. An earthy bitterness, lingering on in the aftertaste. Tasty, but not a prize winner.
