Description
In 1992, Paul Theakston took a daring leap into the unknown. As a fifth generation brewer of his family company, he chose to leave T&R Theakstons following its sale to a national brewery. Instead, he chose to champion independent brewing in Yorkshire and built his own brewery in the very same town, Masham. The brewhouse contains a mixture of tradition and innovation, using the Yorkshire Square Fermentation system which we hold dearly. Our original brewhouse was built from reclaimed equipment which we still use to this day.

Drukket på Bergstua. Gylden. Klar. Middels høyt skum som daler sakte. God maltaroma. Smaken mest malt. Hint av karamell & nøtter. Litt mye kullsyre. Tørr bitter avslutning. Gjennomgående maltpreg.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 3 August 2022. Deep amber in colour with a thin, off-white, head. A very easy drinking best bitter, with caramel notes throughout, a touch of leafy hop and moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Bottle from Morrisons. Pours a clear light golden colour with a large thick foamy white head. Aromas of citrus, floral, white bread and a little bit of caramel. Taste is malty with more citrus and floral, more caramel and bread with added notes of biscuits and peppery spice. Floral hops on the fairly dry finish. Medium body, fairly low carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Very decent golden ale.
