6/VIII/14 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ the seaside - BB: n/a, no markings on the side to indicate a date with the preprinted numbers (2014-883)

Clear orange beer, big fizzy aery white head, unstable, dissipates quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: very aged, oxidized, rotten fruits, orange peel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, orange peel, sugary, little sourish, almonds. Aftertaste: very sugary, orange peel, sherry, marzipan, overripe fruits, some alcohol. Tastes like it's been aged for 5 years or more. But, they're too negligent to put a date on the bottle, so this can happen to any customer. Be warned.

Christmas barley wine with thin, off-white, loose head and brownish dark blonde colour, misty, tending towards amber. Powerful and opulent aroma of peach, pineapple, orange, honey, aniseed, cognac, ginger, cinnamon, gin; soft and velvety palate, sweetish with mild spicy tones of aniseed and juniper berry, citrussy freshness, soft maltiness, finish lightly hoppy bitterish with warm alcohol.
