Description
On a small abandoned farm back in 2002 William Frank and Else Birk started a small brew house focusing on quality and good craftsmanship. The brewery was not far from where the Grauballe man (a bog body that was uncovered in 1952 from a peat bog) was found - hence the name Grauballe Bryghus.

Grauballe Bryghus was in these premises until the year 2013. By then it had grown so big that it was time to move to larger premises where it is today.

Amber color; compact head. Nice English style hop aroma. Malt and cereals flavor, below expectations, caramel, strong bitterness, sturdy, a bit annoying in the end.
Confused.

Hazy dark amber color, beautiful; poor head. Simple aroma, some caramel, lightly cheesy. Medium body, dryish caramel flavor, medium-strong bitterness, light hop fruitiness and resins. Not enough exciting.

The hops are a bit fruity, the body is malty without being thick; it’s well balanced

Cloudy amber-brown color. A malty example of IPA, I would say an American Ale, and of course very hoppy. Caramel, sweetness, aromatic hop… Very strong bitterness.

[At Københavnske Øldage 2005] An unclear orange beer with a huge light brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light fruityness where oranges are most present, combined with hints of yeast. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of oranges and a dry hoppy bitter end. All the way thru the mouthfeel is quite dry.

Draught. Slightly hoppy aroma. Hint of metal? Unclear light brown colour. Low carbonation. Flavour is bitter and astringent, bordering on harsh. Harsh aftertaste.

[At Københavnske Øldage 2005] A hazy orange beer with a small orange head. The aroma i sweet with strong notes of alcohol and oranges combined with light notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of oranges and a good hop presence from at nice hop combination. It also has hints of alcohol - but the alcohol is pretty well hidden. The end is dry. A really nice Barley Wine - with some American inspiration with all the hops.

A hazy amber beer with a nice orange-brown head. The aroma is super lovely hoppy with some notes of caramel. The flavor is hoppy with notes of caramel and turns very hoppy towards the end with notes of hop acid - that almost draws out the mouthwater. Lovely flavor.

Hazy orange colour. Fast disappearing white head leaving a lace on the rim. Aroma is a bit sweet and malty, some hints of honey and alcohol too. Sweet taste with hints of honey and hops. Leaving it with a nice sweet warming aftertaste. This is a nice beer.

Bottle. Dark, slightly cloudy red/brown colour. Malty aroma with some cork. Cork also in the flavour. Nice pepperiness. Malty and drily bitter aftertaste. Pleasant, soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Probably would be a lot better without the cork off-flavour.
