(Tap) Black with good tan head. Pleasant dark roast grain aroma with vanilla hints. Medium bodied, smooth and creamy with lovely soft carbonation. Dark roast grain with some pleasant spices notes maybe cardamom. Very nice.

(Tap) Clear deep amber. Aroma dominated, in a good way, by nutmeg. Medium body with nice bright carbonation. Taste has a nice sweetness and plenty of nutmeg with notes of ginger. Unusual and very pleasant.

On tap at Darbys, pours a clear blonde with a tiny white head. Aroma is dry, with gentle green apple skins, not much else. Flavour is not actually dry, tasting like green apple juice concentrate, with a touch of skins. Seriously, describing this as a dry cider is ridiculously inaccurate; any seasoned British cider drinker would find this amusing. Inoffensive but simple and off-base.

Draught at Steamworks Mt. Pleasant
Dark brown colour. It's a bit chocolatey, it has lean mouthfeel; roasted malt, chocolate, and strong bready character, even if dry. Very good (for a dark, light beer).

Dark brown colour, with a somewhat thick head. The aroma shows mostly roast and vanilla. On the palate this is actually quite harsh. It's boozy as fuck, and that overpowers the coffee, which is also harsh. I remember the first espresso stout that Steamworks made, in the 90s I think, it had a fantastic coffee character. This is harsh. The alcohol drowns out pretty much everything else, too. I mean, look, we've all had coffee, donuts and a block-rockin' hangover, probably at voodoo donuts the morning after shutting down Apex with a full pour of 2am barley wine. But that's not necessarily the vibe I want, in world where Bottle Logic and Modern Times exist. Just too sloppy and unreasonable.

473ml can. Pours a clear pale straw colour with a small, foamy, short lived, white head that laces. Sweet fruity aroma of rice, lime and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of rice, lime zest, lime flesh and floral hops in a dry, mild bitter, slightly tart finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Clean, refreshing and easy to put back. A really solid lime lager.

Golden brown colour, medium head. Toasty, breadcrust. Body is a bit thin, sort of disappears right when you want more sugar. Seems fairly dry for style.
