Description
Gosnells was founded by Tom Gosnell in 2014 after he was inspired to turn his hand to experimenting with mead during a trip to the USA. As an avid home brewer of cider and perry, Tom had brewing experience that he quickly applied to developing our signature style of light, crisp, sparkling mead. From those early days our team and brewery has grown, but our aim remains the same: to re-popularise mead and bring it back to the people.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Slightly hazy and very pale straw colour, pours lightly fizzy with a small and shortlived white head. Moderate aroma of honey. Sweet and sugary flavour, notes of honey and soda. Not my cup of tea.

Gulbrun tåkete med lavt hvitt skum. Lukter lynghonning. Smaker også søtt av honning, noe maltekstrakt. Kort.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-Christmas Tasting. It pours clearish gold with a tiny white head. The nose is soft, sweet, juicy, spiced action, candied peel, earth and apple pie. The taste is smooth, candied fruits, toasted sugar, honey, toffee apple, wood, spice and fruit pie. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit sweet overall perhaps, but not bad.

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas/post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Cheers! Pours mostly clear, pale yellow, with a slight white film. Dry and lightly watered-down honey in the aroma. Medium sweet flavor, with pleasantly moderate honey sugars, clover, light citrus tang. Light to medium bodied, and finely carbonated. Lightly warming to finish, with decent sugary honey, a bit of dryness, further hints of lemony tang. Nice and drinkable for a mead, although there’s not much complexity to it.

Flaske 330ml fra Fresh Fields Market Croydon. Delt med Rune på rom 426 Premier Inn Croydon Town Center 28 Nov 15. Veldig lysegulgrabrun. Frisk pære i nesen. Smaken er lettere honning men pærepreget beholdes. Mulig å drikke - men mer brus enn øl.

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. Hazy amber with a dead appearance; Sauterne-like sweet vinous aroma; but a surprisingly fresh apple taste to start; before developing a honeyed sweetness; then a dry pear like finish with lingering honey. Not at all what I was expecting, an interesting blend of flavours.

330ml bottle bought at the British Library Shop, labelled Magna Carta 1215 London Mead and listed as a special edition for the British Library, 5.5 % abv. Hazy, grey-golden body, some bubbles at a naked surface. No lace. Sweet apples and yeast on the nose. Taste of honeyed sweet apples. Crispy in the mouth. Little more than a sweet soft drink (hotel room, Bloomsbury 10.07.2015).
