Description
Gosnells was founded by Tom Gosnell in 2014 after he was inspired to turn his hand to experimenting with mead during a trip to the USA. As an avid home brewer of cider and perry, Tom had brewing experience that he quickly applied to developing our signature style of light, crisp, sparkling mead. From those early days our team and brewery has grown, but our aim remains the same: to re-popularise mead and bring it back to the people.

Bottle shared during RBESG. Hazy pale golden color, virtually no head. Smell and taste sweetish, a hint of apple, quite dry, slightly a touch of honey. Decent, not great.

Bottle as takeaway from Edinburgh crew just cuz they are nice. Pours light lemonade color. Nose is sweet honey and apples. Tasty spritzy, of motts apple sauce, honey, rock candy, and hay. As awful as that flavor combination sounds it’s actually fairly pleasant. Sweet yet drinkable palate.

330ml bottle @ the Sixth Shrewsbury Bottle Share, courtesy of me. Pours yellow with a sweet honey nose, super smooth mouthfeel and a strange fruity character with soft floral notes. Quite nice.

Bottle @ Mother Kelly’s thanks to Leighton. It pours pale gold with a quickly dissipating head. The nose is sweet, soft, apple, pear, candy and icing sugar. The taste is smooth, fresh apple, juicy, honey, pear drops and candy with a short finish. Light-medium body and very light carbonation. Soft, simple and easy drinking.

Bottle shared at Mother Kelly’s - London. Pours mostly clear yellow with a light, white cream head. The aroma holds some doughy bread with honey honey accents and floral notes. Light to medium sweet flavor, moderately crisp, with pale bready sugars, slight lemon, more floral honey, mild straw. Light to medium bodied with fine, spritzy carbonation. There is a nice, drying edge to finish, with yet more floral honey quality, light grass, sugary white bread. Nice stuff overall.
