Draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Black color; big creamy head. Strange aroma, a bit soapy, and light banana. Creamy mouthfeel, moderate roasted malt flavor, and chocolate, a bit boozy, but not necessarly with wiskey. Correct bitterness level, but at the end is more aggressive. Strange, but nothing spectacular.

Bottled. A pale brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and spices - especially cinnamon. The flavor is very sweet with powerful notes of alcohol combined with som malt and spices - again cinnamon being strongest. Nice body.

On tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival. it doesn’t look too good, with it’s still, hazy, milky-yellow body. The nose is decent, but reminds me too much of apple sauce made from sweet apples, with some alcohol in the back. Sweet apple flavor with a nice sourish touch and some citrusy notes. Pleasantly astringent. The finish is mostly apples, but with some sourness. Overall, too much on the sweet side, but rather drinikable. (090516)

On tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It’s a next to black beer, topped by a small beige to tan head. Roasted, coffeeish nose wtih some alcohol, smoke and peat, and there seems to be the faintest note of DMS too. Sweet flavor with coffee and roasted malts, some bitterness too. Full-bodied and slightly warming, at least it’s more warming than I would expect from a 7.5% beer. Nice bitterness in the finish. A rather lovely beer. Rating: 7-4-7-4-15-3.7. 090515

Bottle. A clear, dark reddish brown beer topped by a creamy tan head. Lightly peaty on the nose, in a whisky-ish way, some vegetal notes in the back. Much lower levels of coffee aromas than I remember. That goes for the flavor as well, which is more in the direction of bourbon than the scotch felt in the aroma. Roastedmalts, licorice and a faint dms note too. Some bitterness blending in towards the finish. Full-bodied. A quite nice beer, but I think it would be better with scotch instead of bourbon. 091016
