1st Beer in one of my German and Lager tasting evenings during Aug 2011. 500ml Brown bottle, best before Jan 2012. The beer poured a bright, clear, pale golden colour with a lovely snow white head that gave off some good lacing as the beer sank down the glasses. The beer seemed odourless, so gets my normal score of 3 for a non-smelling pilsner/lager. The taste was a soft blend of malts and hops, the hops giving a mini-dry, bitter finish. Good carbonisation, this style of beer should have some sparkle about it. A good start to the evenings drinking.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a finger-and-a-half worth of white head. Lacings. Malty, grassy nose with some faint notes of wet cardboard. You have to take a really deep, good sniff to get the wet cardboard aroma. Sweet malty flavor with some hay notes and a grassy, fruity note. Not much bitterness initially, but some occur in the finish. Medium body, quite fizzy. Dry. Quite drinkable, but I think it would be challenging to finish more than one bottle. 091010
