Description
The Establishment Brewing Company is a brewery and taproom located in Calgary’s Manchester Brewing District - an area perfect for brewery-hopping and was recently named Canadian Brewery of the Year for 2021 at the Canadian Brewing Awards and Alberta Brewery of the Year for 2021 at the Alberta Beer Awards. We are a band of friends and beer fanatics, united by one common goal: the proliferation of friendship through sharing stories and music over a beer. The taproom has a warm welcoming vibe with good tunes, house plants and beer snacks, surrounded by barrels that hold a variety of wild and sour beer creations that can take anywhere from three months to three years to mature. We brew flavourful and highly drinkable beers, from barrel-aged sours to hop-forward ales, European lagers, and everything in between.

Poured from 750mL bottle (Release 034; Bottled January 2023; 6.4% abv). Clear dark ruby red with small white head. Further pours were murky .Light blueberry and thyme with very feint wild yeast tartness, clean and simple, not especially interesting, but okay sipper.

Grapefruit and pine on the initial smell are big. Then a big dose of malt kicks in, and that part of the experience bring you down a bit from the initial great smell. Finish is pretty empty for a West Coaster. This beer is just hops smell but zero body, zero bitterness. It's probably the type of West Coast IPA that hazy fans think is real and love, in other words. Can.

Raspeberry, some lime. Pours hazy pink with pretty good head and lacing. Light tangy finish. Decently well done, without being too sweet. Perhaps not my style of beer though. Tap at CRAFT in Edmonton.

Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, lime, pineapple, honeydew melon, mango, earthy yeast, oats and piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Mostly just lemon. Pours clear golden with ok head. A little hay in the finish. Simple, inoffensive. Tap at Meat.
