From a 375ml can on 16/8/2025. Pours a lightly hazy, dirty golden, with barely any head. The nose is citrussy, grassy and herbal. On the sip there's lots of lemon and lime, with more than a hint of passionfruit and white grape. Has a distinct, lightly sour, spicy, tangy finish, rendering it quite atypical for the style. Medium body with average carbonation. Perhaps not a home run, but really distinctive and rather interesting.

From a 375ml can on 17/6/2025. Pours a deep brown cola colour with the barest of heads. Has a strong and very pleasant choc orange nose. Tastes of choc orange too - moderately sweet with nice firmish, balancing, lingering bitterness featuring citrus zest, and a touch of licorice. Medium bodied with moderate to average carbonation. There's heaps going on here. Impressive.

From a 355ml can on 23/7/2024. Pours a hazy golden with a medium head. The nose features quite a bit of citrus with some rind and spicy notes. Tastes strongly of orange, tangerine and grapefruit, with lots of pithy rind in a firmly bitter, lightly spicy, long, fairly dry finish. Silky mouthfeel with average carbonation. Really bold, well balanced and unusual. Terrific stuff.

From a 375ml can on 23/6/2024. Pours a clear deep amber with a smallish head. The nose features light pine and roasty notes. Tastes of roasted and burnt malt, dark chocolate, with a little nuttiness. Firmly bitter, with lots of pine and resin coming at the back in a lingering finish. Medium body with average carbonation. A solid black IPA.

From a 375ml can on 4/6/2024. Pours a clear medium golden with a smallish that disappears quickly. The nose features citrus fruit and lemon. Tastes strongly of orange, lemon and lime, with a hint of granny smith apple, leading into a massive citrus/pine/resin bitterness that coats the mouth and lingers. Full bodied and syrupy with moderate carbonation. You can appreciate the size but goes down quite easily. A really good, big WC style IPA.

From a 375ml can on 12/3/2024 (described on can as Key Lime Pie - Tart IPA, ABV listed as 6.6%). Pours and ultra clear deep golden with virtually no head. The aroma is primarily zesty lime with a hint of fresh pastry. The taste is, not surprisingly, lime focused - moderately tart with just a hint of sour, with a lingering tangy finish. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Not necessarily my kind of thing, but it's quite nicely done.

Pinty on tap at The Grainstore, Newcastle. Golden beer, red tinge, with a foamy white head. High fine carbonation. Nose is fruit and grain. Fruit bread? Taste is fruity and refreshing. Good body. Nice lingering berry aftertaste. Fun beer, very pleasant drinking.

From a 375ml can on 24/5/2023. Pours a deep slightly opaque golden will very little in the way of head. Has a light citrus and ripe fruit aroma. Tastes sharply of the promised blodd orange with a nice citrus rind bitterness. Silky mouthfeel with average carbonation. Dainton's Blood Orange has long been my regular go to craftie quaffer, and I haven't encountered many others of this ilk. But this is really good. Will definitely get some more.

Pint on tap at Welder's Dog, Armidale. Pours dense and cloudy with a thin head. Looks like creek water. Slight orange aroma. Good body, smooth texture. Taste is mild orange followed by aspirin bitterness and late orange rind. Not for the faint-hearted but a nice drink.

375ml can into pint glass. From Beer Cartel. Slightly chilled. Pours a clear copper colour with a large white head of sudsy foam. High carbonation, tiny streams of bubbles. Patchy lacing. Nose is toffee, burnt caramel, maybe a touch of stewed apple. Slight zing, toffee flavour at first. Finish is herbal and tannic. Possibly too bitter for an ESB but nice enough.
