Huge, dense, slowly falling in, very slightly yellowish head over finely carbonated veiled golden beer. Herbs, weeds, leaves and strong malt aromas. Yeast also quite prominent, banana and wheat. Toasted in flavour. Banana, weeds, etc. are all but gone; malts and yeast now solely in charge, leaning to the sweet side. Medium bodied, very slick. Good carbonation, head giving a creamy texture that yields no hopbitter. Average. Blaugies can do better. Txs to Stef!

75cl bottle from Cora in Brussels. F: big, white, average retention. C: pale gold, hazy. A: malty, bit bready, orange, banana, spicy, coriander. T: medium to full malty base, light orange, banana, bready, bit mineral, spicy, pears, bit honey, herbal touch, medium carbonation, vanilla touch, more on the sweet side yet not bad, enjoyed.

Bouteille 75cl, BB 12/2025, bue avec Philippe, achetée au Carrefour Ghislenghien.
Couleur dorée pâle présentant un léger voile, le tout devient plus foncé une fois passé la moitié avec pas mal de dépôt.
Arôme est plaisant quoique classique - retrouve un bouquet balançant houblons nobles et céréales pour une approche belge de belle facture. Un bon rappel des blondes hennuyères. Seul point négatif est la rapidité avec laquelle la lie arrive dans le verre - quais moitié de la bouteille.
Palais est dans une lignée classique belge, retrouve ce côté rustique hennuyer sans percer le style saison - approche un peu vers une Dupont. Teneur de bouche bien là, céréales, houblons nobles avec une pointe terreuse fine et léger apport fleuri.

37,5cl bottle from Cora in Brussels. F: big, white, very long lasting. C: pale gold, milky hazy. A: nice fresh hoppy, banana, floral, pear, dough, honey touch, hay. T: medium malty base, banana, pear, hoppy, floral, bit bready, dry fruity, bit higher carbonation, very nice balanced and it clear Saison here, fully enjoyed.

37,5cl bottle from Cora in Brussels. F: medium, off-white, quick gone. C: gold, hazy with small yeasty particles. A: fruity, hay, bit orange peels, floral, bit yeasty T: medium malty base, fruity, bit orange, dusty, floral, peach, bit caramel, higher carbonation, not bad for the style, enjoyed.

Dorée présentant un léger trouble, col est épais et tenace blanc.
Arôme offre un nez plaisant sur des effluves vertes - houblonné US rappelant La Vermontoise, grains, léger fruité en rétro avec une influence belge marquée.
Palais est généreux tout en restant sur le classique belge - complexe et bien exécutée. Touche de grains pils, pâle, pointe herbacée avec un effet de feuilles de thé vert séchées. Le tout est désaltérant avec le côté rustique qui se retrouve à chaque gorgée.
Brasserie qui fait revivre des bières anciennes - le coup est réussi et on note avec franchise la marque du brasseur de Blaugies qui maîtrise l'art de ces bières hennuyères - on est sur un côté belge très proche de la saison.

Dorée claire, devenant plus trouble sur la fin, col fin blanc épais;
Arôme au nez fin de grains concassés, pointe de levure belge, houblonné léger offrant de belles effluves fruitées et nobles.
Palais est marqué par le caractère de l'épeautre, grains, houblonné fin en amertume d'où je note des notes de fleuri et un soupçon d'agrumes/fruité.
Un cran en dessous de La Coq. Cependant, on retrouve la marque de qualité de Blaugies.

Erhöhte Karbonisierung. Trocken hefiger Beginn, holzig, geringe Säure. Steigend herb, trocken bleibend, süffig. Hell, wenig Alkohol, trocken hefig-herb zum Ende. Nett. 7/9/9/9/8/9

Commissioned Belgian ale from a 75 cl bottle with cork and muselet; brewed with spelt and apparently loosely intended as a saison. Bottle of more than a year old, shared with Goedele. Aroma initially strongly lightstruck (the old familiar cat pee-like mercaptans), apparently the (green!) bottle has been kept in the store under too much light; it fades eventually as it usually does, making way for impressions of banana, bubblegum, old apple peel, coriander seed, bread crumbs, phenolic cloves, papier maché, moist white pepper, straw. Sweetish banana ester in the onset, green apple and light pineapple notes but in all fairly clean especially for something leaning towards saison, sharp and fizzy carbonation, lean mouthfeel; grainy ('spicy-ish' spelt) and cereally malt body, lightly white-bready, slick like a wheat beer but in this case coming from the spelt, tad soapy even; dusty old coriander seed and dried camomile-like hops in the finish, but only softly bittering. Coriander, pale malt sweetishness and banana ester remain, still harshened by overcarbonation. Mediocre coriandered, bubblegummy Belgian blonde rather than a true saison even in the classic sense of the word, feels a bit thin, empty and uninspired, but drinkable enough.
