Back in 2014, a friend of us shared his stories in Oregon, USA. Soon after that, we've got to know about "Hard Cider" movement in PNW. We inherited and are running orchards in Nagano but never tried hard cider before. We clearly remember the taste of our first hard cider sip in Portland in 2015. Much crisper, dryer and richer than localized French style "Cidres" that we were familiar with in Japan.Rev Nat from Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider taught us how they brew hard ciders. Also, we got many of ispirations from Orchards and Cideries in Oregon & Washington. Now we are selling Hard Cider. Made from apples harvested in our orchards. Our journey is just began.

330ml bottle shared with Soph on a Sunday evening listening to 6 Music. Misty pale yellow pour. Aroma of floral wild natural wine, with a sharp Basque-style bite from the Fuji apples, acidic lime echoes softened by lemongrass and wisteria. The finish is simply exquisite. Crisp, beautifully delicate and varied nuances without losing those essential fleshy apple nuances running at its heart.

Tap at Beer Bravo Fest. Cloudy pinkish-brown. Nose is oranges, honey, apple. A bit medicinal. Tangerine flavor, apples, medium dry, again a bit medicinal. Ok but not super impressive.

330ml bottle from National Brewery Centre, Burton on Trent. Misty gold appearance, with a small amount of white bubbles that persist. Aged in a 2nd Fill bourbon barrel from Chichibu Distillery. Comforting butterscotch and toffee apple aroma, continues through to taste with pleasant tannin and caramel emerging. I originally guessed it was calvados barrel-aged before translating, certainly seems more aligned with that kind of sweetness rather than bourbon. Excellent result though, really nice.

330ml bottle from National Brewery Centre, Burton on Trent. Pours a misty gold. Interesting strong sweetness in the nose, kind of a mix of green apple and hops, taste is certainly appley with what seems like a spirit led barrel ageing influence, though this is surely from the hops used. Medium carbonation, medium bodied. Decent hopped cider.
