Can. Clear brown. A beige head tries but fails to form. Aroma of stewed fruit, brown sugar, coffee essence. Oily. There is some sign of a stout with roast and coffee as well as lots of booze and a harsh bitterness. After a 1/4 of a can I tried another 1/4 as flavoured milk: much better. It would also work poured over ice cream.

Third in this intra-conglomerate stylistic bootstrapping attempt. Can. Yellowish and a little cloudy with a small white head. Aroma of Robinson's Lemon Barley Water. Some body. Fizzy. Drier than suggested by the aroma. Lots of lemon. Refreshing.

(Can) Pours hazy straw yellow with tiny white head. Slightly funky aroma. Medium body, well carbonated. Lemony citrus with banana hints at the end. Hints of bread towards the start. Quite dry. Very refreshing and drinkable.

(Can) Pours cloudy amber with tiny white head. Pleasant aroma of biscuit and pine. Smooth medium body with fine soft carbonation. Nicely balanced taste. There’s a nice biscuit malt in the background. Citrus fruit sits on the top from start trough the mid palate then some nice hop bitterness builds. Very drinkable.

Can. About 10C which suited it really well. Black with a fat coat of tan head that retreats to the rim. Roasty and chocolaty aroma with what at first seems like spiced rum, Barney Banana (maybe this is an Australia only kids' ice cream?). Then - like actual molé - it's fat and rich and chocolaty but not really sweet, with rumbling smoky depth and layers of gentle chile. No overt alcohol. A little oak at the end. Excellent.

Can. Pretty much black with a cm of beige head that doesn't last long. Aroma of chocolate and caramel. Toasty rather than roasty. But there's a more of a roasted edge in the taste and the caramel is not that sweet and as much dark fruit as honeycomb. But bitterness still struggles though the sweetness. Not really my sort of thing.

I thought that to the extent that quadrupel was really a style it was Dutch. Shut up, you say? Can. Clear russet with a cm of pale beige head. Aroma of stewed and dried fruit, some roast and dark sugars, dough and spices. Sweet with some molasses-like heaviness that gives depth but makes it less drinkable and obscures the fruit a bit. Falls off a bit towards the end and there's almost a pause before spicy bitterness that builds after a time. Still, pretty good.

Can. Clear orangish amber with a 2cm white head that laces OK. Aroma of candied lemon, tropical fruit lollies, crackers. OK but a bit of a wisp. Punchier taste with a little toasty edge to the light malt and tropical and citrus notes supported by a swelling bitterness. Dry finish. Another solid one.

355ml can into pint glass. From Ritchies IGA, Inverell. Golden orange colour with a white head of fluffy foam. Looks like unfiltered fruit juice. Streams of tiny bubbles just visible. Nose is citric and bitter. Nice body, smooth texture. Very easy to drink, refreshing, cleansing. Lovely lingering fruity finish. Lots of orange, lemon, grapefruit. Really good, a pleasure to drink.
