Description
Brewing is our life, beer is our water so don’t waste time drinking all kind of other things which won’t make your life better.

One Mile End started brewing in the basement of the pub and location of that name in 2014. It moved its main operation to Tottenham taking over what had been Redemption Brewery’s original site.

One Mile End particularly in north-east London was known for brewing the occasional beer with a politically inspired name.

Reported in 2019 as to having moved all production to One Mile End Brewery ceasing production at the Brewpub.

Bottle from Pigs Ear 2014. I allowed Keane to talk me into buying this. Black beer thin tan head. Vanilla bourbon and chocolate malt aroma. It’s actually not bad. If you want a beer that tastes of vanilla and tastes of bourbon. A bit uncouth but quite a drinkable impy stout. Anyone else get a ghee thing going on? Sweet. Vanilla. Just all over the place to be honest. Ugh. After initial well being this is not a happy beer. Struggling to finish it.

Tasting at Leighton’s Flat. Opaque dark brown beer, good mid tan head. Palate is airy with decent fine carbonation. Semi dry. Sweet dark malts. Smooth bourbon, just a little alcohol spice. Sweet dark fruits. Dark chocolate streak. Light dry finish brings a whisper of banana ester. A sweet and flavoursome RIS and pretty drinkable.

Bottle at Leighton’s, thanks to Ol Mitchy. It pours near black with a thick tan head. The nose is rich, intoxicating, roasty, marshmallow, nougat, charred wood, vanilla and toast. The taste is bitter, rich roast, toast, sweet coffee, vanilla, warming alcohol, prickly pepper, earth and cocoa with a warming finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. All comes together rather well. Nice offering from OME.

Bottle shared in London. Thanks to Mitch. Pours black-brown with a large, frothy beige head. The nose has some chocolate, burnt wood, hints of iodine and vanilla. Medium sweet flavor with pleasant burnt marshmallows, milk chocolate, mild earthy bitterness, some dark fruits, raisins. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with some cedar wood, more torched marshmallows, cocoa, roast, dark berries. Lovely stuff. Good depth, nice balance.
