Excellent WC IPA with aromas of melon, lychee and grapefruit. Doesn't hold back on the hops with a really nice clean, tangy pine and grapefruit whack on your tongue. Nicely balanced, easy-drinking old school IPA. Can from Sense of Taste, Hamilton.

(Can) Pours slightly hazy golden with tiny white head. Aroma is hops with a hint of caramel. Medium body with fine carbonation. Great taste. There’s plenty of hop flavours from start to finish, but with pretty restrained bitterness. There’s a nice biscuit, slightly caramel, malt that sits beneath the hops providing good balance. Maybe a hint of alcohol bite in the finish. Very nice.

500ml can. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of mocha (mainly chocolate), roasted malt, light spices, hints of blackcurrants. Pleasant but suggests heavy and straightforward. But not a bit of it - fullish bodied but quite open on the palate with coffee and bread joining roast and chocolate. Not all that sweet with richness giving way to lightly spiced bitterness in due time. Really like how that finish did not have to struggle through any heaviness to tidy things up. Good beer. Perhaps brewery name unduly self-deprecating.

(Can) Pours clear golden with tiny white head. Pleasant aroma of pine, tropical fruit. Medium body with plenty of bright, slightly fizzy, carbonation. Taste is refreshing and fruity at the start with with some peppery notes developing leading into a pleasant hoppy bitter finish. No malt or sweetness apparent. Pleasant quaffing beer.

You have to admire mid strength beers with full flavour. (equally those that rate mid strength beers by comparing to full strength ales are on the wrong boat). This is a little beauty, as good a mid strength beer you will find anywhere.

375ml can into cup (no glasses in my cheap motel!). Appears to be brown/red on the pour with a foamy white head. Smoky, hoppy aroma with a touch of malt. Good body, viscous mouthfeel. Nice malty taste, lingering sweet finish. Easy to drink, very pleasant ale.
